STUDENT DESIGNER SHOWCASE 2014
This collection brought together traditional, tribal designs with modern, urban style. It consisted of six designs, two of them being menswear. I initially had a completely different direction for this collection but while fabric shopping, I came across a rust colored linen that I completely fell in love with. From this I executed my designs in earthy tones drawing inspiration from tribal art and other natural elements. I like to use recycled materials in my designs and some of the fabric that I used in this collection were previously used as tablecloths, window curtains and throw pillows. All jewelry and accessories were handmade crafted out of seashells and gold wire. This piece was entered into the Student Designer Showcase in 2014 were it was awarded first place and audience favorite.
